Future Plans
f you are working on the design of a transformation, renovation or new build, we understand that it is challenging to make good material choices for clients.
How do you make the right choices for organisations with sustainable ambitions and circular policies? Focus on reuse and CO2 storage, Locality or WELL and BREAAM Certifications?
The range of materials available today is enormous and most are presented as sustainable or on their way to sustainable.
One material is recyclable, another is made from recycled material, a third is biobased and the next is refurbished.
Everyone is sustainable and circular these days.
And you want to deliver something good, something destinctive that creates a great workplace, looks stunning and showcases the sustainable ambitions of your client.
You are navigating through the fog of sustainability claims on materials, with the goal that when the next renovation or new build comes along, you are the first person they think of.
The distinctive materials you choose for the interior are what make people remember you and want to work with you again.
We love to think along with you and deliver special designs, designed and produced, so that every of your clients client can express their own unique identity, ambitions and preferences.
Below we are happy to tell you what we do and what that means to us.

CO2 Storage
700% More CO2 Storage
Most walls are clad with CO2 intensive plastered and painted, plasterboard.Â
Alongside is a comparison in emissions and storage kg CO2 per m2.Â
Gyproc emits 1.51 kg CO2 and stores only 0.6 kg CO2 during the production phase.
Compostboard emits 1.44 kg CO2 during its production and retains 6.5 kg CO2 per m2, that is 700% better.Â
Below you can view and download the EPD/LCA of Compostboard.
Circularity

Biobased
100% Biobased, because we believe that as humans we should only use materials that nourish the earth, both during cultivation and at the moment when humans no longer need materials.Â
So that the materials around us feed the earth instead of destroying it.Â

Are you curious about our vision on sustainability? Via the button below you will find the explanation of our vision on sustainability and material consumption.
Limited Edition
We produce small edition materials, every season we change the standard collection.
A new season, a new design, for which we produce 500 panels.Â
With this limited edition the goal is that the product retains its value for the building owner. This is how we want to contribute to the circular economy and to the retention of value of materials in a building.Â
These kinds of special materials are ones you want to be able to reapply after all.Â
We therefore also provide placement and fixing advice. We prefer Remontage for example, for which the screw is currently the best option. We provide advice on the type and colour of screw so that it adds value to the installation.Â
So that you as a designer can focus on the design of the space, the composition and coming together of materials, the development of an identity in the space and creating beautiful designs.Â
And we make sure these details are taken care of.Â

Acoustics
With Compostboard you have a wall finishing panel that regulates acoustics.
A sound absorbing material that functions as a wall panel.Â
The material is designed so that it does not absorb too much sound in small spaces, which would otherwise cause voices to be raised.Â
Most workplaces have hard walls, subsequently finished with an external product made of plastic or cement fibre.Â
Alongside you can see the comparison in emissions between acoustic materials and Compostboard.Â
New material compositions are regularly tested on acoustic resutls.
Resources
We enjoy having personal contact with our suppliers, processors and transporters, in order to make the chain as healthy as possible for the long term.Â
We exclusively use by-stream fibres from the land, think of the fibres released during the cultivation of textiles, linen and hemp.
Or from food crops such as bell peppers, but also roadside grass released during the maintenance of nature reserves by local municipalities.Â
We love to think along with you about on your challenges in your project and what we can do to use the plants that are present in your surrounding area.
Toxins
The Dutch (our location) spent on average 20 hours of the day inside. The materials we surround ourselves with can either be our friends or our enemies.
So many materials are manufactured with toxic chemicals from the chemical industry.Â
Sheet materials, paints, adhesives, plastic panels, wood panels and the list goes on.
It is a shame that we produce these substances and then surround ourselves with them in the interior.Â
The measurement of these substances is done through VOC measurements, or Volatile Organic Compounds.Â
Because we consciously do not work with these kinds of chemicals we have had our material tested as proof.
Compostboard is: Formaldehyde-Free Isocyanate-FreeÂ
Toxic substances-FreeÂ
Volatile substances-Free
This makes the material suitable for interiors with BREEAM and WELL ambitions
Local
We work exclusively with local materials, whether it is our natural adhesive or the fibres.Â
We like to know the origin of the plants, how far they have travelled and which people are part of the cultivation and processing.Â
That is what makes our product personal, makes it feel personal and allows everything to be traced.Â
This is how all our raw materials come from the Netherlands.Â
It is a shame that we are in our interiors mostly surrounded by modern materials that have untracable origins are, same in colour, same in texture, same in quantity, the same in finish, all in bulk, all generic.Â
We want you to use personal materials that you value and do not simply discard, valuable materials that are specially made and designed for that workplace in that season.
Quality
Claude responded: In the workshop we work tirelessly on improving the product, every panel is measured for thickness differences, density and dimensions.
In the workshop we work tirelessly on improving the product, every panel is measured for thickness differences, density and dimensions.
Even though every panel is made in the same way with the same ingredients, the panels always differ just enough to form a beautiful whole together.Â
Sometimes there is a difference in colour tone because the fibre we have used comes from a different field, or has had more or less sun.Â
That gives it the natural quality of the material. The dimensions of the panels are 60 x 260 cm and the panels are 2 cm thick.Â
The designs are inlaid by hand and are made by our craftsman.Â
The human element in the production process means that every panel can bear the mark of its maker.Â
But also that the panels together vary enough to keep the wall finish exciting and interesting.
We have a thickness tolerance of 2,5 mm per panel.
As the material is fully natural it also seems to swell and shrink according to the humidity in the area where it is placed.
Handling
Our panels are developed to be handled by skilled workers.
It can be effortlessly handled by milling, sawing, screwing and drilling in the material with the same tools as usual.
We fine-tune the production proces until the panels can be confidently used.Â
The panels are hand produced and have a thickness tolerance of 2,5 mm per panel.
We deliberately do not use minerals such as lime, sand or cement to produce our panels. So that the handling seamlessly connects to that of other wooden sheet materials.Â
We are working on an explanatory video on how to practically work with the material.
Shipping
When the products are ordered, we will provide a delivery date, on average a delivery of 100 panels takes 8-10 weeks.Â
We provide a handling sheet and advise which screws are the best fit. We then ensure that the product is delivered at the right time, to the right place.
What do you receive from us upon ordering?Â
The distinctive panels.Â
Ordered screws in the correct colour and size. The panels are delivered on a pallet and packaged.Â
A handling sheet and storage instructions.
For specific questions you can always call Rik.
On request we also hand out certificates of the orderred panels which states:Â
CO2 storage of the total order,Â
raw materials used and origin,Â
which design (collection) is being delivered,Â
how many panels from the editionÂ
how the panels are fixed,Â
where the panels are placed in the building.
Future Plans
You may have noticed after reading through everything, that we do not stand still.Â
We are constantly looking at how we can improve our product.Â
One of the ambitions that resonates throughout the product is; how do we create an economy that can function healthy for 1000 years.Â
That is only possible if the impact of human existence can be coupled with care and attention for the little blue ball we all live on.Â
That is why we have started setting up our own cultivation.Â
Can we grow plants that are good for biodiversity and yield beautiful fibres?Â
For this we are looking at a number of plants that are not sprayed, not fertilised, and yet give a great deal to the life in their immediate surroundings.Â
We then want to mix these plants into the product so that we actively contribute to the care of the planet with the fibres we use.
